Does MESOkine® cover bovine, porcine, and avian species?

Yes. The MESOkine® catalog includes bovine FGF basic, IGF-1 LR3, VEGF, LIF, Transferrin, and IL-6; porcine FGF basic, IGF-1 LR3, EGF, and PDGF-BB; and avian variants. Each factor is species-matched to the animal cell type you are culturing. Contact us if your species is not listed -- our team can advise on cross-reactivity or custom production options.

How does MESOkine® bioactivity compare to conventional growth factors?

Each MESOkine® batch is tested for bioactivity and verified to have comparable activity to a corresponding commercial source of highly purified (>95%) growth factor, using commercially accepted bioassays performed by independent research organizations. Results are reported in a certificate of analysis and datasheet for every batch. You can validate head-to-head in your own assay before committing to scale.

What does "animal-free" mean for a cultivated-meat application?

MESOkine® growth factors contain no animal-derived substances -- no serum carryover, no endogenous cytokines, no antibiotics, no prions, and no bacteria or viruses. They are produced in barley endosperm (an endotoxin-free plant host) and are biorisk-free for cell culture use. This matters for your regulatory path and for the integrity of your process as you move toward commercial production.

Can MESOkine® supply scale to production volumes?

Yes. ORF invested to scale MESOkine® production capacity 14x by 2027. Orders are fulfilled through a worldwide distributor network on a quote basis; larger quantities are available on request. The same catalog numbers you use at bench scale are available at production volumes -- your process does not need to change as you scale. Contact us to discuss your projected volume and timeline.

Are ORF Genetics products currently GMP-compliant?

MESOkine® growth factors are not yet cGMP validated, but ORF is actively building a GMP-compliant production facility. In the meantime, MESOkine® represents a significant improvement in safety over traditionally produced growth factors -- endotoxin-free, biorisk-free, and ISO 9001 certified. Proliferation factors

FGF basic bovine/porcine (MK0201) drives cellular proliferation and is the most widely used growth factor in cultivated-meat media. IGF-1 LR3 bovine/porcine (MK0301) is engineered for higher biological potency in vitro with an extended half-life for large-scale culturing. Both are bioactivity-verified with ED50 below 0.1 ng/ml for FGF basic and below 2 ng/ml for IGF-1 LR3.

Differentiation and vascularisation factors

VEGF bovine (MK0501) stimulates endothelial proliferation and angiogenesis, supporting vascularisation in 3D tissue constructs. PDGF-BB porcine (MK0401) promotes mesenchymal stem cell recruitment and differentiation. LIF bovine (MK0601) maintains pluripotency and supports early-stage differentiation control.

Support and media factors

Transferrin bovine (MK0701) is an iron transport protein and standard serum-replacement component in defined media. EGF porcine (MK0801) is widely used in porcine cell culture media.
